Projects

This panel represents a collection of the projects that I have worked on throughout my college experience.

UC IEEE Student Branch

Vice President

I am the Vice President for the UC IEEE student branch.

My responsibilities for this position include overseeing the outreach chair and webmaster, contributing to our semesterly magazine publications, organizing events and meetings, and improving our impact at the university level.

I have been invited to and attended the IEEE conference in San Diego, I helped to organize and contribute to our successful MakeUC hackathon, I have continued to improve the organization's impact on campus, and I am a recipient of the IEEE Cincinnati scholarship.

Through this position, I have learned how to successfully manage an organization, contribute to successful social and academic events, and I have expanded my knowledge and increased my networking skills through attending the IEEE conference.

College of Engineering & Applied Sciences

Teaching Assistant

Peer Mentor

ASEE member

I am currently in my third year of working as a teaching assistant for the college of engineering "engineering education" department. I have previously served as a teaching assistant for the old models course, and I helped to mold and change the new engineering design thinking course for first-year engineering students. I have also served my students as a peer mentor, where I lead a group of students through serious discussions and help for a successful start to their academia.

Additionally, I am a founding member of UC's chapter of ASEE (American Society for Engineering Education). So far, we are a group of teaching assistants whose goal is to improve engineering education at UC.

These positions and memberships have taught me so much more that most of my courses combined. I have enjoyed working with the incoming engineering class and getting the opportunity to help mold the new freshman engineering course. I have acquired so many skills from interpersonal skills such as public speaking to programming and debugging.

Bearcat Pantry

Volunteer

I currently serve as a volunteer for the Bearcat Pantry.

The Bearcats Pantry provides free food, hygiene items, and cleaning supplies to students with food and other insecurities. The pantry also provides meal vouchers that can be used at campus dining halls. Our goal is to assist students in need by cutting down their grocery bills and connecting them to other resources in an effort to promote independence.

I have been given the opportunity to help everyday students succeed by helping to provide them with the most basic resources. I have even been able to help some of my students connect to the Bearcat Pantry to get professional clothing in time for the Fall Career Fair.

Clean-Up Cincinnati

Volunteer

Leader

Clean-Up Cincy is a semi-annual event where groups of students go out and literally clean up the streets of Cincinnati. I have volunteered for this event multiple times, and have served as a student leader twice.

As a leader, it was my responsibility to lead students around an area of Cincinnati, manage the clean-up crew and trash disposal, and help to pick up trash along the roads. I learned that students can do amazing things when brought together for a common cause.

University of Cincinnati Drumline

Member

During my first year on campus, I was a member of the UC Drumline. I was able to secure a spot on the line playing tenor drums. I have been into music performance (specifically percussion) since 6th grade. I played in my high school's marching band all four years and I rose as a leader in the band.

Even with this experience, UC's marching band taught me a great deal of about hard work, perseverance, and time management. I really struggled during the beginning of the season, but I grew exceptionally as a player and as a person. I formed a great deal of friendships, developed my time management skills, and even improved my study skills through marching band.
